From Our Area, For Our Area

"The West of Scotland is where I'm from, where I live now and where I'm bringing up my own family. I want the best for you and the people I grew up. Working as a family librarian in the past or now as a teacher for young people with ASN and in my service as a local councillor, I see how badly the SNP has let our area down. If I'm elected as an MSP, I'll use my values of community and kindness to stand up for the West of Scotland in the way that people here really deserve. "

The Reason I'm Running

Our Priorities For the West

"I'm standing so that I can make things happen out in our communities and fight for people's priorities at the Scottish Parliament.

I want your vote for the regional list so that you get a hard-working, committed campaigner and responsive representative who’ll stand up for you and our communities at the Scottish Parliament in a way you can be proud of. In my work as a teacher in Drumchapel, I see how much people need our new direction. From my service as a councillor in Inverclyde, I’ve got the experience of using our politics to improve people’s lives. That’s why I’m asking for your backing - so that I can work even harder to make our communities better.

My work on tackling poverty and securing funding for grassroots organisations to provide food, friendship and warm spaces has attracted national attention and cross-party support. My interactions in person, online and in the press has shown that I understand public priorities, that I keep in touch and that I keep my promises. My strong community connections have already made it possible for more people to work together to make my area better. My record on developing our membership and increasing activist involvement has built capacity in our region and improved our approaches to campaigning. My experience in organising public events has raised awareness of important issues and created new partnerships for change. My targeted work with stakeholders, groups and individuals has helped to make our communities safer, healthier and happier.

Your support will make sure the West gets what it deserves - a dedicated campaigner who’ll stand up for our area, with enthusiasm, energy and experience."

Standing Up For Our Communities

"I'm not afraid to speak up for people and speak out on the issues that matter most and I've got experience of doing just that. If I'm elected, I'll continue to do whatever it takes to get our message across- speaking to the media, writing articles and columns, organising events and meetings and raising awareness in whatever way works best. That's just what I do and I'll love having the opportunity to work with you on making things better across the West of Scotland."

Working alongside   unions and Scottish   Co-op Party

"As a public sector worker with decades of local government experience and a record of standing up for workers and public services, I'm proud to be backed by UNISON Scotland.

If elected as MSP, I look forward to engaging with the priorities of GMB and Community members.

I've successfully campaigned alongside the Scottish Co-operative Party using my platforms to tackle food poverty, modern slavery, retail crime and to improve local high streets. That's why this Scottish Co-op Party supports means so much."

Representing Our People

"I love working alongside you to get results.

You might have already been on the campaign trail with me, in Inverclyde or in elections across Scotland, electing Scottish Labour representatives and sharing our important messages.

We've worked together on the Scottish Policy Forum in my role as a rep on the forum. Some of you have had the chance to attends events I've organised through the West of Scotland Women's Forum. I'm an active member of the Scottish Labour Women's Committee.

As a ward councillor as a convener on council committees and appointee to key groups, boards and organisations, I know what it means to properly represent people right across my home area. I'm Scotland's rep on the Association of Labour Councillors, working alongside other councillor reps across Scotland.

That's why I'm standing now for MSP. I know the           difference we can make together and I know how to turn campaigns into results that improve lives. With your    support, I can do this work at the Scottish Parliament."
